ArtSper — Bringing Art Into Everyday Life

Cross-platform UI Design

ArtSper — Bringing Art Into Everyday Life by 58UI Design Studio

Project Background

As interest in culture and creative experiences continues to grow, art commerce has become an important bridge between art and a wider public. Yet many existing platforms feel either overly formal and specialist, which can make art seem inaccessible, or too visually generic to communicate the value of the work. ArtSper set out to create an e-commerce experience that feels distinctly artistic while remaining welcoming and easy to explore. The project therefore focused on a clear cross-platform interface and visual system that could improve the way audiences discover, understand, and engage with art.

Design Scope

Cross-platform UI design:

  • Web experience: Designed a long-form browsing experience with clearly structured sections for artwork discovery, curated features such as “Crush of the Month” and “Fresh Face in Art,” category spotlights including bronze sculpture, editorial content, and gift cards. The layout combines an art-led visual language with clear hierarchy so ArtSper can present its catalogue and services coherently.

  • Mobile experience: Adapted the interface for phones and other mobile devices, refining layout and interaction so users can browse artwork and understand the platform’s services comfortably in mobile contexts.

Visual direction and design system:

  • Colour and typography: Established orange as the primary colour, supported by black and white, to express the energy and warmth of art. Apercu Pro was specified across headings and body copy to maintain consistency, readability, and an appropriate editorial character.

  • Visual language: Introduced art-inspired lines, frame motifs, artwork photography, and exhibition imagery to strengthen the platform’s connection with the art world and create a more immersive browsing experience.

Product content and feature design:

  • Artwork discovery and detail: Designed clear presentation and detail views for different types of artwork, including essential work information, artist profiles, and recommendations for pieces with a similar style.

  • Merchandise and brand applications: Extended ArtSper’s visual language into art-themed tote bags and other physical products, as well as exhibition posters, business cards, and supporting brand materials.
